I am a researcher in philosophy and economics. Currently, I'm a postdoctoral research fellow at the University of St. Gallen, Switzerland (I’m working on my "Habilitation") and a lecturer in economics at Zeppelin University Friedrichshafen, Germany. Before moving to Switzerland, I obtained a PhD in philosophy from the University of St Andrews, Scotland, and a PhD in economics from the University of Witten, Germany.
My main focus in philosophy is on political philosophy and applied ethics (notably ethics of economics) - with side interests in philosophy of action, philosophy of fiction, and normative philosophy of language. In economics, I work on political economy and the economic theory of conflict, mostly from the perspective of New Institutional Economics. Whenever I combine philosophy and economics, I focus on normative questions. My main interest here lies on macro-level questions like “What is a just market exchange?”, but I also have a firm background in business ethics and corporate responsibility (especially as regards health care and agents in the health care system).
